This is the Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n Sterrato. Immediately, we must commend Lamborghini on building what looks like \u2013 on first impressions \u2013 the perfect car for the modern\u00a0world.<\/p>\n

Just look at it. That bulked up bodywork. Those all-terrain, off-road wheels and tyres. Raised suspension. While it might harbour desires of devouring the world\u2019s rally stages and off-road courses, it certainly won\u2019t break a sweat bouncing over the odd pothole or suspension\u00a0joint.<\/p>\n

It is meant, says Lamborghini, to bridge the worlds of the supercar and \u2018challenging\u2019 environments. To the first point: the fundamentals riff off Lamborghini\u2019s Hurac\u00e1n Evo, replete with that 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 and\u00a0630bhp.<\/p>\n

To the second point: Lambo\u2019s engineers have recalibrated the drive systems to better cope with off-road hooning. Not our guesswork, but Lambo\u2019s own confirmation: the LDVI system (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) \u201cprovides enhanced rear-wheel-drive behaviour, producing more torque together with additional stabilisation in oversteer manoeuvres\u201d. In plainer English? Find some hills, pin the throttle, send\u00a0it.<\/p>\n

The Sterrato sits 47mm higher than a regular Hurac\u00e1n Evo, and Lambo has increased the departure angle and front approach, and widened the tracks 30mm front and back. Then come those new wide-body wheel arches with integrated air intakes, all the better to accommodate those delightful 20in wheels riding on \u201cballoon\u201d\u00a0tyres.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
